Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless (PVH) -- working with over forty-nine (60) houses of faith in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk and students from Virginia Wesleyan College provide nightly shelter for persons from mid November through the first week of May each year. 757-399-0200.
The Winter Shelter -- provides emergency services to more than 50 homeless adults each night between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. This is a partnership between local churches and public agencies, orchestrated by Volunteers of America, 757-437-4911.
