3D Print Studio: Terms & Conditions

Information for 3D Print Studio

Want to reserve our 3D Printing Studio? Click here.

Terms

Anyone making a reservation to use the 3D printers agrees to all terms. Users may, however, make a reservation to familiarize themselves with the printers and not make a project at that time, but simply use the time to examine the printer's user interface, familiarize themselves with how a project file and print materials load into the machine, and practice how to calibrate the printer before use. In fact, this is strongly suggested for first-time users.

Caution

3D Printers are HOT, so please use them with caution; 3D printers heat in excess of 215*C.  3D printing is at your own risk!  If anything goes wrong with the machine during printing, please alert staff immediately and do not try to fix anything due to the risk of burns.

Copyright Statement

While the use of sites like Tinkercad and Thingiverse can be a great way to find items that others have already designed for printing, those items may still be subject to copyright protections and are the responsibility of the user.

Library staff will not train users!

It is strongly suggested that users create a free account at TinkerCad.com and complete the first four lessons in 3D print design, or have equivalent knowledge of 3D printing, before using the 3D Printing Studio.

Note

Users who do not completely understand the the information contained in this libguide should seek out 3D printing instruction before moving forward with using the 3D Printing Studio. Some instruction may be available through the Library Media Center, but only as staff availability allows and only if it is scheduled in advance.

Please contact Jennifer Galeota to arrange that instruction.
