Searching for Books



Books in the library are organized according to the Library of Congress system, which means books are organized according to subject and labeled with a call number.  Call numbers are arranged alphabetically then numerically (see the example below for more information).

To find books or other materials held physically within the library, please search the catalog for the item's availability and shelf location. 


Finding Books in Human Anatomy & Physiology


The library has numerous books on human anatomy and physiology. To browse books while at the library, look for those in the following call number range:

QM - Human anatomy

QP - Physiology


f we don't have the book you need, it may be available at another institution in Virginia.  Use the Interlibrary Loan to request books or articles not available at LBB.  FIRST TIME USERS:  If you do not have an Interlibrary Loan account, you must first create a profile through ILLIAD.  Distance Learners must choose Distance Learner in the Status field and enter an address that is not a P.O. Box.
