How to Access Databases from Off-Campus: Finding Libraries Near You

This guide will show you how to access databases and other library resources when you are not on campus.

Find What You Need Wherever You Are!

Don't let being out of reach of the LBB Library put you at a disadvantage.

While the library has extensive electronic resources, and open-source databases are making it easier for anyone to find full-text articles available with the click of a button, sometimes you may need access to a physical resource.

The links here are meant to help distance students find resources where and when they need them. Many of the libraries are federally-funded and open to researchers, but inquire with specific institutions regarding their access policies.

Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA)

VIVA levels the academic playing field: Through VIVA, students and faculty at institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth have access to digital and print journals, books, reference sources, and databases that are essential for educational success and research enterprise. Whether you are at a community college or a large public university, a small liberal arts college or an elite private university, the same VIVA is available to you.
