This guide is an overview of the services and equipment offered by the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library's Media Center.

 

 

Loan Rules

Loan Rules, Terms, and Conditions

  • Users must have a NSU email address and a Spartan card to use the online reservation system.

  • Patrons CANNOT borrow any equipment if they have outstanding library obligations (e.g., overdue books, fines on their account, etc.).

  • All equipment is for educational purposes only and can be reserved 48 hours in advance.

  • Two items can be requested at a time from the DSLR category. This option is ONLY available if a requestor needs to borrow a camera AND a tripod in the same reservation.

  • Please do not personalize any of the equipment.

  • Patrons must supply their own memory cards for use in the DSLR cameras.

  • By signing, the user vows to take precautions with the equipment and promises to return the equipment in the same condition as it was at the time of check out.                               

If an accident occurs, the borrower must contact a media center staff member immediately at (757) 451-7595 or (757) 823-2224 explaining the accident and damage.

When making a reservation online, you agree to abide by the above terms and conditions and agree to the following statement.

“I understand that not returning university property when designated or intentionally damaging university property is a criminal offense, and that the lender will submit my name and ID number to the university police for further action that could lead to prosecution."

Failure to comply can result in the loss of all library borrowing privileges, including reserving a study room and/or equipment.
